This project began with a dated property that hadn’t been touched in over 40 years. The new owners saw its potential, and we worked closely with them to completely remodel the house — reimagining it as a bright, contemporary family home.
While the existing structure was retained, every element of the building was transformed. A modest extension helped unlock the flow of the internal layout, allowing us to create a light-filled, open-plan living space at the heart of the home. Externally, the house was re-clad and fully rendered, with a new slate roof replacing the original red tiles — giving the property a clean, modern identity while preserving its original fabric.
We believe in retaining and upgrading wherever possible rather than demolishing and starting over — and this project is a perfect example of how thoughtful intervention can breathe new life into an older building.
To meet modern energy standards and comfort expectations, we fully insulated the property, installed underfloor heating throughout, and redesigned all the openings to maximise natural light. The result is a beautifully finished, energy-efficient home that feels entirely new, while still grounded in its original character.
